Puffins Galore! - A Community Art Triumph
Puffins Galore! was a vibrant community art project managed by a small team that captivated audiences across Yorkshire and beyond. This initiative not only brought joy and entertainment but also raised significant funds for four charities: RNLI, RSPB, Hornsea Inshore Rescue, and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Through strategic media management and community engagement, Divine PR successfully elevated the project's profile, resulting in widespread participation and substantial charitable contributions.

Project Highlights

Charitable Impact:
The project raised over £100,000 for four charities, with each receiving more than £25,000. These funds were generated through a grand finale auction, sculpture sponsorships, and merchandise sales, supporting the vital work of these organisations.
Artistic Collaboration:
41 artists from across the UK were engaged to creatively decorate the giant puffin sculptures, with one artist contributing two unique pieces.
42 sponsors, including businesses and private individuals, demonstrated their commitment to the project by supporting the sculptures.
Community Participation:
The sculpture trail attracted over 250,000 enthusiastic fans, who participated in the trail and shared their experiences on social media.
46 Puffin Pals volunteered to monitor the sculptures, creating a sense of community involvement and stewardship.
Business and Tourism Impact:
By placing sculptures in lesser-known areas, Puffins Galore! increased foot traffic and positively impacted local businesses. Many businesses reported a surge in sales as visitors explored new locations inspired by the trail.

Testimonials

Clare Huby, Director, Puffins Galore!:

“We engaged Divine PR to manage publicity and social media for Puffins Galore!, a public art sculpture trail along the East Yorkshire Coast and inland across Hull and East Yorkshire. Having managed this on our own for previous projects, we were very pleased with the significant increase in interest and activity that they generated for the project.

“Divine PR created our media content, managed photography and video, as well as our online, social and broadcast media campaigns. We saw excellent results with over 250,000 people engaging with the sculpture trail.

“Jess also connected us with new sponsors and managed internal communications with over 40 sponsors, the artists, as well as our fantastic team of volunteer Puffin Pals.

“I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Divine PR to any organisation looking to enhance their profile.”
